Meet Dental Anesthesiologist Richard Montandon, DDS
Dr. Richard Montandon was accepted into the Idaho Dental Education Program and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) through Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Immediately following dental school, Dr. Montandon was introduced to dental anesthesiology through a one-year general practice residency at Indiana University. He went on to complete another four years of intensive anesthesia residency training. He trained in providing anesthesia for a broad scope of medical and dental procedures.
Upon completion of his anesthesia residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Dr. Montandon became an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time, he provided anesthesia care and trained dental anesthesia residents, student nurse anesthetists, and dental students. Dr. Montandon's professional focus is primarily clinical dental anesthesiology; however, he has also been involved in lecturing, publishing articles, and other scholarly activities.
Dr. Montandon is dedicated to increasing the availability of dental services to patients who are unable to have their dental treatment completed without the use of sedation and general anesthesia. He has all of the equipment, medications, monitors, and auxiliary supplies necessary to provide you with a portable operating room experience in the comfort of your dental health care provider's office. Dr. Montandon is committed to helping meet his patients' needs in a safe, efficient, and affordable manner.
